Domestic Violence
 

Issues of Domestic Violence (DV) that occur in the UK are treated very seriously. You should always report any incident; physical, emotional, sexual, financial or mental to the police. They are trained to help you and every DV issue is treated seriously. Once informed of an incident the police will attend promptly and arrange medical assistance, help find you a place of safety and arrange an interpreter as necessary.

Help & Support

If you are injured, telephone 999 and ask for an ambulance and the police. If you fear for your safety, telephone 999 and ask for the police. If you are not immediately at risk contact your local police station some phone numbers are given below. If your local station is not listed, phone any of the stations given below and an operator will give you the phone number of your local police station

Women & Childrencan also get help by phoning the National Domestic Violence Helpline. It is open 24 hrs, call free on 0800 2000 247. They will be able to refer you to local services and safe houses (known as refuges). They will arrange an interpreter on the phone if you need one.

Children
can get help by phoning the NSPCC free on 0800 800 5000 or Childline on 0800 1111

Hostels for Women

The Home of Peace 179 Bravington Rd W9 3AR provides hostel accommodation for single women, aged between 18-60 yrs. Phone 020 8969 2631 for availability

Abercorn House: 28-30 Bute Gardens W6 7DS provides hostel accommodation for men and women. Phone 020 856 38962 for availability, there is a charge of £15 per night
