We have volunteering roles across the projects and would be delighted to hear from anyone who is interested in becoming more involved with The Upper Room as well as people with specialist skills, eg events management, fundraising, design, marketing or social media.
For safeguarding reasons, we generally only allow volunteers aged 18 and above into our building. Younger people are of course welcome to help by raising funds for us – eg through a bake sale or sponsored run.
UR4Meals volunteers
Our Meals project serves freshly cooked hot meals to up to 100 guests each weekday, and this is only made possible by the generous help of a large team of volunteers. There are three shifts: from noon to 3pm, 3pm to 5pm and 4pm to 6.30pm. Most volunteers come in once or twice a week.
Volunteering for UR4Meals is an extremely rewarding and sociable activity, and many of our volunteers have been coming for years.

“Through its network of volunteers The Upper Room helps people from wherever they come. It is a very distinctive local charity, relying mainly on the generosity of individuals, but it extend helps to anyone in need wherever they come from, whatever language they speak.”
