Our evening meals sessions known as UR4Meals provides FREE evening meals Monday to Friday (5.30-6.45pm) to homeless, vulnerable and other disadvantaged people.
We serve a hot three course meal, cooked freshly on the premises for between 60 and 80 people. There is also free one to one support to guests who need any additional assistance. This may be in the form of referring internally or directly referring or signposting to various external partners who can help with benefits, housing or accommodation advice and physical and mental health services etc. When available we offer free toiletries, clothing and bedding.
This project benefits from so many committed individual volunteers – these people contribute nearly 11,000 hours to our charity every year. We are so grateful to them and for the generous donations given by individuals and corporate supporters of our organisation.
Our work to improve the lives of the homeless and other disadvantaged groups begins with the provision of free food
Please note that The Upper Room does NOT currently provide accommodation. We do make onward referrals for homeless service users whenever possible, but the shortage of beds in night shelters and hostels continues to be a big problem.
